What a credible case study shows
- Every public case study requires one documented permission record
- A useful case study separates scope, constraint, action and measured outcome
- No customer name, result or project count is published until verification
What makes a B2B case study credible
A case study is publishable only when the customer has approved in writing what may be named, what stays anonymous and which figures can appear. Unapproved detail is left out rather than blurred. Where a number cannot be shown, the decision behind it is described instead — a reader learns more from the constraint than from a rounded figure with no source.
Who approves what may be published
This page intentionally contains no invented customer, certificate, volume, saving or delivery claim. Approved cases will be added only after the company confirms the facts and the customer authorizes publication. Until then, the page explains the evidence standard a procurement team can expect.
The manufacturing agreement should state what the supplier provides and what remains with the brand, importer, distributor or Responsible Person. Formula documents, component declarations, quality records and transport data have different purposes. Their availability and scope should be agreed before the buyer assumes that a finished batch is ready for a particular channel.
How a project becomes a written case
- Brief: a case study starts here, because the recorded constraint at the outset is what a later outcome can be measured against.
- Feasibility: the decisions taken and rejected at this stage are the substance of a credible case; a study that omits them describes a result, not a method.
- Samples: coded references and written criteria produce a record of why one direction was chosen — the part a reader can actually learn from.
- Approval: the locked specification is the fixed point. Without it, a claimed improvement has no baseline.
- Production and shipment: inspection and release records supply the measurable outcome rather than the adjective.
Published cases require the client's approval for scope, market and figures, so what appears here is limited to what has been cleared for publication.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a fragrance case study credible?
A recorded starting constraint, the decisions taken and rejected, and an outcome measured against a locked specification. Without the baseline, an improvement claim has nothing to be measured from and is an adjective rather than evidence.
Why are client names sometimes withheld?
Private label work is confidential by default. The brand owns the market position and usually does not disclose its manufacturer, so a case is published only with written approval covering scope, market and figures.
Can a case study be published without figures?
It can, and it is more honest than inventing them. Method, constraints and decisions are useful on their own; a figure that cannot be sourced adds nothing a reader can rely on.
What evidence does a project generate naturally?
Coded sample records, the approved specification, batch and inspection records, and the shipment documents. These exist because the project ran, not because a case study was planned.
Does a case study prove the same result is repeatable?
No. It records what happened under one set of constraints. A different market, quantity or component set changes the conditions, which is why the constraints are stated rather than summarised away.
What should a buyer ask a supplier for instead?
References tied to a comparable product format and destination market, and the records behind them. A general claim of experience is not checkable; a specification and a batch record are.
